Sinjoseon: White Night Gears

Privacy Policy

"Sinjoseon: White Night Gears" (the "app") is a text gamebook made by Gentle Neoguri, a one-person game studio. This policy explains what information the app keeps, where it keeps it, and what outside services handle.

1. Information the developer collects

The developer does not collect personal information such as your name, email or phone number. The developer runs no servers, so nothing you do in the app is sent to the developer.

2. Information stored on your device

Your current chapter and position, the choices you made, the lines saved in your notebook, achievements, the endings list, and settings such as text size are stored only on this device. They are not sent to any server.

Uninstalling the app or clearing its data deletes them. If Android device backup is on, this data may be included in the device backup in your Google account.

3. Google Play Games sign-in and cloud save (optional)

Signing in with your Google account is optional. You can read the whole story without signing in.

If you sign in, your progress is saved to your Google account (Google Play Games "Saved Games") and achievements are recorded in Play Games. Google handles this data; the developer does not collect or keep it separately. You can manage or delete Play Games data in the Google Play Games settings.

4. Ads (Google AdMob)

The app shows rewarded ads from Google AdMob. You watch them only when you choose to, and you get an in-game reward for watching to the end.

To show ads, measure them and prevent fraud, AdMob and its partners may collect: the advertising ID, device information (model, OS version, language and so on), approximate location estimated from your IP address, ad and app usage data, and crash logs.

Google handles this data under its own policies: Google Privacy Policy · How Google uses information from partner apps · How Google uses advertising

5. Consent for users in the EEA and UK

In regions where the law requires consent, such as the European Economic Area and the UK, Google's consent form (UMP) appears when you first open the app. There you can choose whether to allow personalized ads.

You can change your choice later in the app menu under "Ad privacy" (shown as "광고 개인정보 › 선택 다시 하기" while the app is in Korean). This item only appears in regions where consent is required.

6. Opting out of personalized ads

In your Android device settings (depending on the device, "Google > Ads" or "Privacy > Ads"), you can reset or delete your advertising ID. Once it is deleted, it is no longer used for personalized ads. You can change your Google account ad settings in My Ad Center.

7. Permissions and internet use

Internet: used for ads, Google sign-in, and downloading fonts. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which passes your device's IP address to Google.

Advertising ID: used by AdMob for ads. Keep screen on: stops the screen from turning off while you read.

The app does not use location, contacts, microphone or camera permissions. If you keep an illustration from the gallery, only that image file is saved to your photo album (the app does not read your photos).

8. Age

The app is intended for users aged 16 and over. It is not directed at children under 16 and does not knowingly collect information from children.

9. Selling and sharing

The developer does not sell your information and does not pass it to anyone other than the Google services named above (Play Games and AdMob).
